IRON MAN WINDMILLS vs BRAND X WINDMILLS
The growing interest in renewable energy and a growing need for water is attracting new companies with little experience into the market. The result is that we are seeing the market for water pumping windmills becoming polluted with poorly designed and manufactured windmills that do not perform as they should. At least one company is an outright fraud conceived to wrongly extract funds from buyers and investors alike. In their published published pumping capacity chart, the amount of water they claim they can pump would require 280% more energy than exists in the wind speeds they claim. Of course, such claims are as ridiculous. If enough energy isn't in the wind to begin with, then it is not possible to do the work claimed. Companies producing poorly designed windmills are claiming they are “innovative“ use of new designs and are lower in cost. When comparing demonstrated - real pumping ability and working life, they fall far short and are actually the most expensive windmills on the market. These windmills are usually rehashed versions of designs abandoned many years ago and are not living up to the seller´s claims leaving buyers disappointed and out their money.
While there are a number of good water pumping windmills being manufactured by several different companies today, those poorly designed and manufactured windmills being produced by other manufacturers do a dis-service to their customers and damage of the reputation of the legitimate wind water pumping wind power industry. I refer to this entire category of poorly designed and manufactured windmills as “Brand X,“ even thought windmills of this class are being produced by a number of different manufacturers. One company responsible for Brand X windmills licenses other manufacturers to produce windmills according to their plans. These other manufacturers are usually new to the wind power industry and have little experience prior to their entering into an agreement with the licensors. Looking up the pumping capacity of this Brand X windmill is a challenge in itself, as the different manufacturers – all producing the same windmill – apparently cannot agree with each other. The following is a real example comparing actual performance and costs of this Brand X windmill produced by a Brand X licensee and the Iron Man Windmill. IT'S TRUE:The performance of Brand X is poor when compared to the IRON MAN Windmill or any other good windmill pumping under the same conditions and. . . BRAND X IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE!Here is a real example in a day of Strong Winds lifting water 10MThe Ø5M Brand X pumps 145,000 Liters per day (145 Tons) and costs $6,850This is according to the manufacturers pumping capacity chart. The Ø4.8M IRON MAN pumps 432,000 Liters per day (432 Tons) and retails for $14,680!* This is 290% of the water pumped by the Brand X at 214% of the cost! * Quantity orders and distributor pricing is about 50% of this price and includes shipping to most international ports. The Ø3.6M IRON MAN pumps 216,000 LITERS per day (216 TONS) and costs $6,195!* This is a pumping capacity of 149% of the water pumped by the Brand X at 90% of the cost of the Brand X! * Again, quantity orders and distributor pricing is about 50% of this price and includes shipping to most international ports. A RECENT TEST of a new Brand X windmill in good condition by a professional engineer using accurate instruments has reported to us that in strong winds lifting water 10M, Brand X actually pumped 77.7 TONS of water or 53% of the water claimed in the manufacturers pumping capacity chart. This windmill was using a new pump in good condition as recommended by the manufacturer. IT'S TRUE:The Brand X Windmill is made from thin, light weight material that provides reduced strength, a limited useful life and requires regular maintenance.The IRON MAN Windmill is sturdily made from heavy materials for a lifetime of service with little maintenance. The Ø5M Brand X Windmill and 12M tower weighs 1120kg The Ø4.8M (16ft) IRON MAN Windmill and 12M tower weighs 1958kg The Ø3.6M (12ft) IRON MAN Windmill and 12M tower weighs 1015kg Just 105kg less than the Ø5M Brand X Windmill! IT'S TRUE:The IRON MAN Windmill is stronger, pumps a lot more water and when comparing sizes and pumping capacity, costs less.IT'S TRUE:The Brand X windmill is not a low cost windmill. Considering its limited pumping ability and limited life, it is amongst the most expensive water pumping windmills on the market today. |
